Iowa Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) is a system responsible for the electronic distribution of benefits for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). If you receive benefits, you may spend your benefits at farmers markets across the state. SNAP benefits can be used to buy seeds that bear food, vegetable plants (i.e. herbs, peppers, tomatoes), meat, eggs. Cheese, dairy products, baked goods, honey, jam/jelly and much more. Hot prepared foods and drinks are not allowed with your SNAP EBT card.
Your Iowa EBT card can also be used at stores that display the Quest logo. Be sure to ask the customer service desk if you are unsure. At the checkout lane, slide your EBT card and you’ll be prompted to enter your 4-digit PIN. Be sure to check the amount that shows in the machine window to ensure that it is correct. Once the transaction has been completed, you’ll be given a receipt. Your receipt will show your current Quest card balance at the bottom.

Iowa EBT Card Balance
There are three options for checking the balance on your Iowa Quest Card:
Option 1 – Find Your Receipt
The first way to check the balance on your Iowa Quest Card is by finding your last transaction receipt. Your receipt will have the most current available balance on your EBT Card at the bottom. It is important to save all receipts if you wish to have access to your current EBT/Quest card balance.
Option 2 – Login to your Quest Account Online
To access your Quest Card balance online, visit the Iowa EBT website and log in to your account, here. In order to retrieve your Quest Card balance, please enter your User ID and Password. If you do not have a User ID or Password, then you can register or activate your card. Once logged into your EBT account, you’ll be able to check your balance, review your transactions, reset your PIN and contact customer service.
Option 3 – Call the Quest Card Customer Service
Your first option for containing the balance on your Iowa Quest Card is to call Customer Service hotline at 1-800-359-5802 or 1-877-347-5678. Be sure to have your Quest card number, as well as your PIN. You’ll be asked to provide this information as verification of your account.
