Delaware Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) is a system responsible for the electronic distribution of benefits for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). SNAP is a food supplemental program that enables low-income families to buy a variety of food that is the basis for better nutrition. Benefits are issued electronically to the family’s Delaware Food First card each month (EBT card). The recipient can use their card at eligible local grocery stores to access food benefits.
Eligibility for this service is based on factors such as living situation, relationships in the home and income. All children over 21 years of age and living with their parents must apply with their parents. The maximum gross monthly income limit for most individuals is set at 130% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). To see if you are eligible, refer to the 130% FPL chart.
