Are you trying to check the balance on your New York EBT Card? In today’s post we will outline the ways you can find out your New York EBT card balance. The New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) is responsible for administering the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), also known as the Food Assistance Program. SNAP enables low-income families the ability to purchase nutritious food by providing monthly food assistance benefits. Benefits are distributed to New York food assistance recipients via a plastic Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.
The New York EBT Card is a bank debit card that holds the food assistance benefits assigned to a recipient each month. Once your benefits are deposited into your account, you can begin using them at grocery stores to purchase eligible food items. Items eligible to be purchased with food assistance benefits is determined by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). How to Check New York EBT Card Balance
There are three available options for obtaining the balance on your New York EBT Card. We’ve listed all three options for you below. If you have any questions about how to check your New York EBT Card Balance, please leave those in the comments section below.
Option 1 – Check your Last Receipt
The first option for checking your New York EBT Card balance is to check your last receipt. This is the easiest and quickest way to locate the current balance on your EBT Card. Your balance will be listed at the bottom of the your most recent grocery store receipt. To use this method as a means for checking your balance, please be sure to always keep your latest EBT receipt.
Option 2 – Login to your Connect EBT Account
The second option for checking your New York EBT Card balance is to login to your Connect EBT account. By logging into your Connect EBT account, you’ll be able to view your current EBT Card balance, as well as a list of recent transactions.
To login, visit the Connect EBT website here, then enter your User ID and Password. Once logged in, you’ll be able to view your current balance and transaction history. If you do not have a Connect EBT account, you can create a User Account here.
Option 3 – Check by Phone
The last option for checking your New York EBT Card balance is by phone. If you want to check your current balance by phone, you must contact New York EBT Customer Service. Customer service is open to food assistance recipients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The customer service phone number is listed below:
