The New Mexico Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) is a system for delivering Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to those that are eligible. SNAP benefits are distributed by the New Mexico Human Services Department to reduce the impact of poverty and provide support services that help families break the cycle of dependency on public assistance.
When you are approved for the New Mexico SNAP Program, you will be issued an EBT Card that will allow you to redeem those benefits. Your EBT Card can be used just like a debit card at participating grocery stores to purchase qualified food items. You can also use your New Mexico EBT Card to withdraw your benefits at ATMs throughout New Mexico. Your benefits are delivered to your EBT Card each month for use.
